These are pictures of kids from an orphanage in Sri Lanka;
it is called the "Shepherd's Heart Children's Home."
A shepherd takes care of his sheep in a gentle way, and Jesus
takes care of us in a gentle way too. Jesus is called the "Good
Shepherd." He finds lost sheep and shows them the safe
way to live. He makes sure the
sheep stay out of danger (people are the "sheep" that
Jesus takes care of). The orphanage is called "Shepherd's
Heart" because kids that are lost and don't have a family
get taken care of, just like Jesus takes care of people like
a Shepherd. The kids in the orphanage are also taught how to
follow God. There is a boy at the orphanage who had a problem
with anger. My dad and I met this boy in Sri Lanka; he has no
anger problems anymore. God is doing a great work in Sri Lanka
for those who follow Him. There are so many obstacles they have
to face, but God can take care of all of them. By the way, God
can take care of any problems YOU have, too, if you trust in
Him!

After
60 years of marriage, The Lord took my husband home to be with
Him, but he left me here. I decided that even at
82 years of age, He still had work for me to do. Because I have
become more and more conscious of the need for children to come
to know Jesus, I took a writing course for children's literature
by correspondence, and began writing stories that I felt would
help young children. We had four children and I was
an elementary school teacher. When I read the website of
The Kid's Ark, I was excited. This magazine reaches
children who would not otherwise get to hear about the plan
of salvation and get to know Jesus. That is just what I
wanted to be a part of, and now I am a small part.
Violette Burger, one of the editors, has accepted three of my
stories for the Kid's Ark. The other way that I am a part, is
that I ask God each day to bless the Burgers and the staff of
the magazine. I also ask Him to direct each copy of the magazine
into the hands of a child who needs to hear the gospel. May
God bless each of you who might read this. Allow Him to use
you too.
